Gothic Gallery Mode: Castlevania’s Belmont’s Curse Art Drop

Castlevania has always been half game, half haunted museum. *Belmont’s Curse* is leaning into that dual citizenship. Per Konami’s June 8, 2026 announcement, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches October 15, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam (Nintendo Switch timing to be announced later). It is an exploration-based 2D action adventure developed jointly by KONAMI and Evil Empire, with advisory help from Motion Twin. The story is set in Paris in 1499, twenty-three years after *Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse*, and follows Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont, through monster-haunted streets and Dracula’s castle with the Vampire Killer whip in hand. The art-drop part (why this is on an art blog) Konami’s trailer rollout highlighted original artwork by acclaimed manga artist and illustrator Katsuya Terada. That alone is a whole moodboard. On top of that, the Midnight Edition (digital or physical) includes a Digital Sound & Art Gallery alongside alternate costumes and an in-game relic. Steam store materials for the title describe the gallery as a standalone application with development content and a large music selection; Konami’s edition chart specifically notes the Digital Sound & Art Gallery featuring 71 tracks from the title. In other words: if you care about gothic linework, concept sketches, and soundtrack-as-atmosphere, the Midnight Edition is not only “deluxe skins.” It is closer to a portable gallery mode with a castle attached. Edition cheat sheet From Konami: - Digital Standard: main game - Digital / Physical Midnight: main game plus Digital Sound & Art Gallery, Trevor Style and Sypha Style costumes, Family’s Grace relic - Pre-order / early purchase bonus across editions: Alucard Style Costume - Select EMEA physical retailers: possible SteelBook and a premium tarot card of Rose featuring exclusive Terada art (availability varies) Art Life take I will always show up for games that treat concept art like part of the experience instead of a locked folder. Terada’s hand meeting Belmont lore is the kind of crossover that makes comic-con sketch desks and museum gothic wings feel weirdly related. Whip optional. Curiosity required.
